31 July 2024, 07:46 AM

Russia’s Kursk Oblast came under drone attack overnight, a fire broke out at one of the “objects” there, Kursk Governor Oleksiy Smirnov reported on Telegram on July 31.

“Ukraine’s Armed Forces targeted the facility near Kursk,” he claimed.

“I am on site with law enforcement officers, evaluating the attack aftermath and reasons why air raid alert was not issued."

Smirnov did not specify which facility was hit.

The fire was contained, he announced later, adding that there were no casualties.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
