Ukrainian Air Force shows Shahed drones elimination over Odesa overnight — video
Ukrainian air defense shot down at least seven Shahed drones over Odesa Oblast in mass Russian nighttime attack, the Air Force wrote and published a video documenting the operation on June 10.
The footage captures the actions of mobile fire teams from the Odesa Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, part of the Southern Air Command, as they destroyed Russian drones in a large-scale overnight attack.
That same night, Kyiv experienced one of the most massive attacks since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Fires broke out and infrastructure was damaged in seven districts of the capital, with four people injured.
Russian forces also launched a heavy drone attack on Odesa, using Shahed kamikaze drones. As a result, multiple civilian infrastructure sites were damaged, including the administrative wing of a maternity hospital. Two people were killed, and nine others injured.
The Ukrainian Air Force data indicated that Russia launched a total of 315 aerial targets across Ukraine, including Shahed drones, decoy UAVs, two KN-23 ballistic missiles, and five Iskander-K cruise missiles.
Air defense forces intercepted all missiles and 220 drones. Another 64 drones were lost on radars.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
