Another Russian oil executive dies suddenly
Vladimir Nekrasov, chairman of the board of directors of Russia’s Lukoil, has died in Russia, the company’s press service reported on Oct. 24.
Nekrasov’s predecessor "mysteriously" fell out of a window in Moscow a year ago.
"According to the preliminary conclusion of the doctors, the death was caused by acute heart failure," the statement reads.
Nekrasov was 66 years old.
This is the third death of a Lukoil executive in a year and a half, according to The Moscow Times.
Ravil Maganov, the vice president and previous chairman of the company's board of directors, fell out of a window in Moscow on Aug. 1, 2022. Nekrasov was appointed to replace Maganov on Sept. 1, 2022, but he lasted only a little over a year at the helm of the company.
In May 2022, Aleksandr Subbotin, former vice president and head of Lukoil's main supply and sales department, died in Moscow Oblast. According to Russian media, he died during a spiritual session with “shamans,” where they tried to cure Subbotin of his alcohol problems with the help of frog poison.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 40 Russian public figures have been reported dead, including oligarchs, scientists, and even generals.
