Explosions rocked the Russian-occupied settlement of Kadiyivka in Luhansk Oblast even as the Russian military is trying to conduct offensive actions in the area, regional governor Serhiy Hayday said on Telegram on March 1.

"There was ‘bavovna’ in Kadiyivka, where Russians tried to hide trucks with ammunition on the premises of a plant," he said. “Bavovna” is a Ukrainian euphemism for an explosion caused by a Ukrainian army attack.

According to the governor, the enemy attempted offensive actions in Bilohorivka and near Kreminna, and in particular, in the area of Makiyivka and Nevske.

Hayday also noted that the Russians conduct offensives mostly at night.

"On a daily basis, the occupiers are shelling with heavy caliber the de-occupied settlements, where civilians still remain," the governor’s statement reads.

Additionally, the head of the regional military administration noted that the Russians have a lot of kamikaze drones. He said they are widely used on the Luhansk section of the front.

"We’re waiting to receive a means of combating these drones," Hayday said.
