An additional $100 million will be allocated to Ukraine by the Australian government for the procurement of critically needed military equipment to counter Russian aggression, the press service of the Australian government announced on June 19.
Following the allocation of $50 million under the PURL initiative in December 2025, Australia will make two more $50 million contributions over the next 12 months, the statement noted.
As a result, the total volume of Australian assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion will exceed $1.8 billion, of which over $1.6 billion is military aid.
"What happens in Ukraine matters here in the Indo-Pacific region, which is why it is so important for Australia to stay the course and continue supporting Ukraine until it achieves peace on its own terms," Richard Marles, Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister said.
"Australia is proud to be, alongside New Zealand, the first non-NATO country to contribute to the PURL initiative."
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported that following the 35th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (in the Ramstein format), allies announced the provision of approximately $4 billion in military assistance to Ukraine.
The key priorities for support are the PURL program, strengthening air defense, artillery, and drones. The main decisions made by the partners are centered around these specific areas.
