Explosions in Dnipro as Ukrainian forces down Russian drone

Explosions were heard in the city of Dnipro on Aug. 8, according to local Telegram channels.

Defenders from Air Command East shot down a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the region, reported Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that air defense operations against a Russian UAV were underway in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

An air raid alert in the region was declared at 11:51 a.m.

An air raid alert was declared in several regions of Ukraine overnight on Aug. 7 due to the threat of ballistic weapons and enemy drones. The air defense forces successfully destroyed two Kh-59 guided missiles and four Shahed drones during the night.
