Drone struck the former Ukrtelecom building housing the occupation telecom operator Lugakom in occupied Luhansk, Astra reported on Oct. 21.

Local social media channels and municipal chat groups reported explosions echoing across the city. Representatives of the Russian proxy occupation administration have issued no public comments regarding the incident or the extent of the physical damage.

According to Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, the Lugakom network functions as the primary provider of cellular mobile communications, internet connectivity, and digital data transmission across Russian-occupied territory in Luhansk Oblast.

On Sept. 24, Ukrainian strike drones executed an overnight attack against a large commercial complex in occupied Luhansk, sparking a massive blaze.

Astra confirmed that the September strike ignited the Stroytsentr home-improvement hypermarket — a commercial property seized by Russian proxies in 2014 that previously operated as part of Ukraine’s national Epicentr chain. Additional drone strikes and secondary fires were recorded at multiple military and logistical locations across the city during that operation.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
