Drones struck the Krasny Kamen international border crossing on the Russian-Belarusian frontier overnight, Supernova+ Telegram channel reported on Sept. 29.
Video footage circulating from the incident demonstrates extensive destruction across the checkpoint’s administrative and customs infrastructure resulting from an ensuing fire. Due to the scale of the damage, standard operations and commercial vehicular throughput across the international crossing are expected to face substantial disruptions in the near term.
The Krasny Kamen border crossing is located on the Russian side of the state boundary, positioned directly opposite the Selyshche checkpoint in Belarus's Gomel Oblast. The terminal serves as a primary logistical corridor for freight and passenger road transit between the two allied states.
Krasny Kamen crossing was earlier targeted in an aerial attack over the weekend, according to Supernova+, where a commercial transport truck sustained damage in the immediate vicinity of the customs terminal on Sept. 27.
