In Russia’s Tuapse, drones attacked the port and an oil refinery overnight, sparking fires, local officials wrote on Dec. 31.
UAV attack damaged one of the piers at the port of Tuapse and equipment at a local oil refinery. Fires broke out at the strike sites.
“A fire at one of the piers was promptly extinguished," the statement said.
"The fire at the refinery site was also put out, covering an area of about 300 square meters.”
Two people were injured in the attack.
Earlier reports said that a series of loud explosions was heard overnight in Krasnodar Krai. Local residents reported a drone attack and a fire at an oil facility in Tuapse.
The Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported that the strike ignited the AVT-12 unit at the refinery — a key component of primary oil processing responsible for atmospheric and vacuum distillation of crude oil.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
