Russian barrage wrecks power line, homes, farm in Cherkasy Oblast
A power line was damaged by an overnight Russian drone and missile attack in the Zvenyhorodsky district, Cherkasy Oblast Governor Ihor Taburets reported on Telegram on Sep. 10.
At least five residential buildings and a farm were damaged.
A barn was partially destroyed by the blast wave and fire, killing two cows. The fire has already been extinguished.
Two Russian missiles and a dozen of drones were shot down by air defenses over the oblast.
No one was injured in the attack.
Overnight, Russia launched a massive air raid on Ukraine, targeting the energy grid, residential areas, and industrial sites in Kyiv, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Vinnytsia, and other Ukrainian cities.
Earlier that day, Poland’s military announced that it had shot down drones that violated its airspace during a Russian attack on neighboring Ukraine. This is the first time Poland has taken such a step, which constitutes a major provocation for Europe and NATO forces.
Poland is a member of NATO, a transatlantic defense alliance that employs the principle that an attack on one is an attack on all.
