Explosions rocked temporarily occupied Crimea amid a reported drone attack, local monitoring  Telegram channel Krymskii Veter (Crimean Wind) reported late on May 24.

Local residents reported the sounds of explosions and air defense systems operating in occupied Sevastopol and Simferopol, as well as in the northern part of the occupied peninsula.

The Kremlin-installed authorities have not yet released any information regarding the attack aftermath.

On May 17, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that it worked with the Defense Forces to strike infrastructure and air defense systems at the Belbek military airfield in occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian fighters reportedly hit a Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft missile system, a hangar housing a radar for the S-400 complex, an Orion drone control system, a Forpost drone ground control station, a ground-to-air data transmission point, as well as a control tower and another hangar at the Belbek airfield.

On April 26, SBU reported that its drone strikes on the Russian Black Sea Fleet base in Sevastopol and the Belbek military airfield damaged three military vessels, a fighter jet, and several air defense facilities.
