The Russian military launched four missile attacks on Kharkiv on the night of Aug. 12, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, Oleh Synehubov, announced on Telegram. The projectiles were launched from the Russian city of Belgorod.

“At around 3:00 am, two missiles, likely S-300s, hit an educational institution in the Slobidskyi district,” he reported.

"The canteen and vegetable warehouses were damaged.”

The regional governor added that in the Novobavar neighborhood, one of the missiles hit the road next to an administrative building, with debris from the impact damaging the facade of the structure. The strike of another missile was recorded in the Kyiv neighborhood.

There were no casualties as a result of the attacks.

Additional strikes by the Russian military were recorded in the village of Tsyrkuny and between Tsyrkuny and Cherkaski Tyshky in the Kharkiv district. The damage there is currently being assessed, Synehubov stated.

Russian troops also shelled the Chuhuyiv, Kharkiv, Izyum, and Lozova districts of the oblast.

According to Ukraine’s emergency medical services, as a result of the at-tacks, civilians were injured in the Kharkiv, Kupyansk, and Bohodukhiv districts: two people were wounded in Tsyrkuny — a 58-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man. Both are in moderate conditions.

A 62-year-old man received minor injuries in the Derhachiv community. In the Kupyansk district, a 54-year-old tractor driver tripped a mine. Mean-while, a 23-year-old man was injured in the Zolochiv community. One 51-year-old woman was killed as a result of a Russian missile strike.

Russian troops target Kharkiv with missile strikes almost on a daily basis. On Aug. 8, invading forces attacked one of the most densely populated districts of Kharkiv. One civilian was killed, and another was injured. The Russian military also shelled the historic center of the city, Pavlove Pole.
