Russian troops continue to attack the areas of Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka, in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian military’s General staff said in its morning update on Nov. 4.
Over past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Force repelled enemy attacks in and around Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Mariinka, Novomykhaylivka, Vodiane and Pavlivka in Donetsk Oblast.
The Ukrainian Air Force has carried out 21 air strikes, hitting 20 areas of the concentration of weapons, vehicles and manpower and a surface-to-air missile position.
Ukrainian air defences downed three Iranian Shahed-136 suicide drones.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian artillery struck a command post, four areas of concentration of weapons, vehicles and manpower, an ammunition depot, an electronic reconnaissance station, minefields and other important military objects.
Earlier, Donetsk governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said that the Bakhmut area remains one of the most tense on the frontline. According to him, the Russian invaders cannot break through the Ukrainian defenses holding them back, so they are instead destroying surrounding settlements.
The General Staff also reported that Russian troops are attempting to block Bakhmut in the southern and north-eastern directions, but that Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled these attacks.
