German surveillance drone producer Quantum Systems has opened a center to provide technical and logistics support to maintain its contract with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the company announced via a message on its website on May 31.

The center will help train UAV operators and facilitate procurement of spare parts and repair services.

In late May, Ukraine ordered 300 mid-range Vector reconnaissance drones from Quantum Systems, with funding provided by the government. Previously, the company received orders for 105 UAVs in January 2023 and 33 UAVs in August 2022.

The company said that Vectors has been widely used and heavily tested in combat on Ukrainian soil since August 2022. It offers unparalleled maneuverability and rapid deployment capabilities, ready for use in just two minutes, and provides continuous detection of enemy targets regardless of weather conditions, with a speed of up to 72 km/h and long flight time.

Thanks to built-in AI, Vector provides effective and convenient real-time aerial reconnaissance. The system frees the operator from constant video monitoring, and its embedded algorithms allow it to automatically identify objects and immediately transmit key reconnaissance information to units on the ground.

“Quantum Systems proudly stands in solidarity with Ukraine, as highlighted by representatives of the Chief Intelligence Department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in a recent statement,” the company’s message said.

“Quantum Systems is pleased to reaffirm its strong partnership and unwavering support for Ukraine by delivering cutting-edge Vector drones, as per Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense contract.”
