Greece has decided to close its airspace to planes from Belarus, as well as banning flights to this country, the Pentapostagma media outlet reported on Dec. 21.

The decision is reportedly connected with growing fears about the possible direct participation of Belarus in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Thus, today the country’s authorities approved the relevant directive on the introduction of several restrictions.

“According to the council’s decision, planes operated by Belarusian air carriers are banned from landing, taking off from the territory of Greece or flying over its territory,” the directive says.
