The mayor of Enerhodar, a Russian-occupied city in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, has warned its citizens against turning out for “Russia Day” celebrations on June 12, saying the invaders are planning “provocations” against civilians.

Mayor Dmytro Orlov urged city residents not to attend any mass events arranged by the Russian occupation authorities and collaborating city officials.

“According to insider information from sources close to the special services of Ukraine, provocations are being prepared against citizens of Ukraine by the special services of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied cities of the Zaporizhzhya Oblast,” Orlov wrote on the Telegram messenger on June 11.

“I urge you, for your own safety, not to attend mass events planned by the ruscists (Russian fascists) in Enerhodar on June 12!!!” Orlov wrote.

He gave no indication what “provocations” the Russians might be planning.
