Ukraine can easily spare officers to consult Middle East on countering Shahed UAVs, expert says

drones would not meaningfully impact Ukraine’s own air defense, Ukrainian
veteran officer Yevhen Dykyi told NV on March 3.
Dykyi argued that given the vast numbers of strike drones Russia launches at Ukraine every night, the armed forces have more than enough trained personnel to spare some of the officers for a time.
“The point is that one [power] transformer here is hit by more Shaheds than all of Dubai,” he said.
“That answers the question. We have so many forces, people, and assets tied up in air defense that sending a few experts who could help the British is a drop in the bucket; it will not affect our security. But it would have a big effect on our political weight in the modern world.”
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said March 1 that Ukrainian and British experts will cooperate to help partners in the Middle East shoot down Iranian drones.

said Ukraine is ready to share its experience in the field. He said more than
10 Ukrainian companies now produce low-cost interceptor drones designed to take
down kamikaze drones.
