Municipal water supply services across Kyiv were fully restored to regular operating capacity, Kyiv City State Administration wrote in its official statement on Oct. 12.

Utility operator Kyivvodokanal confirmed that water pressure across distribution mains has returned to required technical standards throughout the city. Engineering teams continue continuous monitoring of the municipal water supply network.

The restoration follows major disruptions initiated on Oct. 8, when a wave of Russian missile and drone strikes against Kyiv's energy infrastructure triggered emergency electrical shutdowns. Severe voltage drops cut power to vital Kyivvodokanal facilities, causing pressure drops in Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomyanskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts, while prompting municipal authorities to warn Right Bank residents of potential complete shutoffs.

Kyiv authorities noted that while approximately 700 backup generators have been deployed at municipal district heating and water distribution facilities across the capital, these units lack the electrical output required to power high-capacity pumping stations. Ensuring continuous operations during prolonged blackouts requires high-output industrial diesel power plants or distributed cogeneration units.

Acting First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Administration Petro Panteleiev confirmed that energy workers stabilized damaged substations while communal crews gradually normalized water parameters in the four impacted districts.
