Loud explosions have been recorded near temporarily occupied Mariupol, according to an adviser to the city’s mayor, Petro Andriushchenko, on Sep. 14 morning.

“The Russian air defense system was activated near Yalta and Yurivka settlements in Donetsk Oblast. In Mariupol district it was loud,” Andriushchenko said.

Russian occupiers are constructing fortifications near Mariupol, Andriushchenko reported on Sep. 6. It is currently unknown whether the reported explosions are linked to the construction project.
