Ukraine downs 133 Shaheds and six missiles overnight - Air Force
Ukraine’s air defenses intercepted 133 of 213 Shahed drones and six of seven Kh-101 missiles in Russian mass combined attack, Air Force reported on Feb. 25.
The drones were launched from Russia's Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
79 more decoy drones failed to reach their targets.
Air defense operated over Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
The attack caused destruction and casualties in Kyiv and Zhytomyr oblasts.
In Obukhiv district, Kyiv Oblast, a 44-year-old woman sustained injuries and was hospitalized. A private house and outbuildings were destroyed.
Residential buildings were damaged in Zhytomyr Oblast, a woman and two children were injured.
By morning, air raid alarms sounded across Ukraine due to the large-scale missile and drone assault. Russian Shahed drones targeted Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, but Ukrainian air defense successfully repelled the attack.
Authorities continue to assess damage and casualties, as emergency crews work to clear debris and restore essential infrastructure.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
