During a Russian massmissile strike against Ukraine on Dec. 29, one of the missiles fell onto the territory of Belarus, reported pro-regime Telegram channel Pul Pervogo on Dec. 29.

The channel alleged that the missile was a Ukrainian anti-air munition fired from an S-300 anti-air system.

According to the outlet, the regime of Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko is now considering two versions of the incident:

  • The missile flew "in the wrong direction";
  • The missile was "shot down as a result of the operation of the air defense systems of Belarus."

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, stated that Ukrainian air defenses had managed to intercept 54 out of 69 cruise missiles fired during the mass strike.

The new massive strikes were preceded by a night attack by Iranian kamikaze drones. Out of 13 Shahed-136 drones Russians used, 11 were shot down by Ukrainian defenses.
