Explosions shake Odesa amid ballistic missile threat

Explosions rocked Odesa early in the moring during an air raid alert, with the Ukrainian Air Force warning of ballistic missiles heading toward the city, Suspilne national broadcaster wrote on Dec. 13.

Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov confirmed the first explosion around 8:00 a.m. and urged residents to remain in shelters.

More explosions were reported shortly after.

Electric transport is suspended, and water services are disrupted in the city, Local outlet Dumskaya wrote.

The Ukrainian Air Force previously detected missile movements toward Odesa from the north. This attack followed an overnight assault by dozens of Russian drones, with the morning wave including ballistic and cruise missiles, including Kalibr missiles launched from the sea and Kh-101 from Tu-95MS bombers.
