The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be ready to launch an offensive with newly-received Western equipment in a few months, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said in aninterview with Ukrainian news platform Ukrinform on Feb. 15.

Reznikov stated that getting Western equipment is only one half of the question of a new Ukrainain offensive, as the other half depends on the relevant training — that takes time, he noted.

"Our crews... need to be prepared,” Reznikov explained.

“And not only crews themselves but in cooperation with an entire unit, for example, a tank battalion, and so on. Because they have a task, a task that is set by the Ukrainian General Staff. Above all, it's about the liberation of the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine. It takes time. We are speaking about several months that we needed to be completely ready. And from then on, some events will happen according to the General Staff's decisions.”

It also announced new sanctions against Russian individuals and entities. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak pledged the support to Ukraine until its victory over Russia. Zelenskyy also confirmed that the UK will be sending a new military aid package, which will include long-range weapons.

Commenting on issue of fighter jets for Ukraine, Sunak stated that no final decision had been made, but that the British government was considering the matter.
