The next U.S. assistance package to Ukraine is expected to be the largest thus far, Deputy Director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center, Melinda Haring, said during a Kyiv Security Forum live stream on Nov. 16.
“Our support will be powerful,” she stated.
"We expect the next U.S. assistance package to be the largest that Ukraine has ever seen.”
Haring added that many of the candidates Ukraine supporters were worrying about weren't re-elected, but politicians who supported Ukraine were.
"The pro-Ukrainian leadership group was re-elected,” she noted, commenting on the Nov. 2022 midterm elections in the United States, in which the Democratic Party, which largely supports Ukraine, won a majority in the upper house of the U.S. legislature, the Senate.
“In the House of Representatives, several key figures who strongly supported Ukraine were re-elected, as well.”
She added the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Pavel Fischer, who supports Ukraine, had also been re-elected.
"I know, Ukrainians worried a lot that Trump's followers would win the majority that would change the support of Ukraine,” Haring said.
“But it won't happen...[the aid package] will be delivered before Christmas.”
