Port in Russia's Novorossiysk hit in massive drone attack - video
Russia's Novorossiysk was rocked by a series of at least 8 explosions overnight on May 17 in a likely drone attack on the center's port area, Russian Telegram channel Astra claimed.
The explosions were reported by 3:30 a.m. and the city's air defense systems could be heard working, Astra added.
Video footage of the nighttime explosions in Novorossiysk has surfaced online, showing flashes in the sky and evidence of fires.
Krasnodar Oblast governor Veniamin Kondratyev blamed the attack on Ukraine.
"Air defense forces suppressed over 10 drones," he claimed.
"Localized fires broke out due to falling drone debris and are currently being extinguished. Preliminary information indicates there are no casualties."
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
