Russia under attack: power substation ablaze in Lipetsk Oblast, drone strikes reported in Belgorod & Kursk
Drones attacked several Russian oblasts, including Lipetsk, Belgorod, and Kursk, overnight on May 1, their local authorities claimed.
"Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)" were 'suppressed' over the Stanovlyan district, and the subsequent fire at the power substation is being extinguished, Lipetsk Governor Igor Artamonov claimed.
Air Defense shot down several air targets headed toward Belgorod the same night, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov claimed.
A residential building, a sauna, and a garage were demolished as a result of a direct hit in Belgorod Oblast, he alleged.
"Three peaceful residents who were at home at that moment miraculously escaped with light scratches and bruises!” Gladkov claimed.
“They refused to call an ambulance. The head of the settlement took them to their relatives."
Five homes and three cars in the village were also damaged, he alleged.
Eight plane-type UAVs were also shot down overnight in Kursk Oblast, Russian propaganda media TASS claimed, referencing local authorities.
Explosions could be heard in Belgorod during a missile alert earlier at night.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
