Ukrainian orchestra’s Shahed drone overture goes viral
A video of a Ukrainian orchestra performing an overture mimicking the flight of a Shahed drone went viral online on Sept. 2.
The Garmoniya orchestra, whose musicians created the piece, captured sounds familiar to Ukrainians: the approaching hum of a Shahed drone, followed by noises resembling air defense systems in action, and concluding with the sound of the drone crashing.
Ukrainians responded with ironic humor in the comments, praising the orchestra for “shooting down” the drone and jokingly asking why the overture was played “outside their windows at night.”
The orchestra reported that the video garnered over 2 million views across social media platforms.
“Music should reflect the reality we live in. These are the times, and this is the art,” Garmoniya representatives stated.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
