Poland opens largest training center for Ukrainian soldiers

Poland has opened the largest training center for Ukrainian military personnel, Camp Jomsborg, which can accommodate up to 1,200 people at once, Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported on Oct. 2.
The creation of the center was made possible thanks to the support of European partners, particularly Norway.
Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Yevhen Moisiuk emphasized that Camp Jomsborg is designed to provide systematic training for Ukraine’s Defense Forces and promote the exchange of combat experience between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and NATO countries.
“Here we will be able to share our expertise with partners, including in the use of and countering drones,” Moisiuk noted.
The training center is located at one of the Polish Army’s training grounds and is part of the broader NATO support for Ukraine, laying the foundation for further cooperation in strengthening defense capabilities.
The opening ceremony of Camp Jomsborg was attended by Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, as well as the Ministers of Defense of Norway and Estonia, Tore Onshuus Sandvik and Hanno Pevkur, along with representatives of other NATO member states.
250 Norwegian instructors are already working at the center, and military personnel from Estonia and other NATO countries are expected to join soon.
The European Union remains a key partner for Ukraine in training its military personnel: since the beginning of the EU training program, 80,000 Ukrainian soldiers have received training in EU countries.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
