Russian troops attacked the town of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast using Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), damaging more 30 high-rise buildings and leaving the city without water, Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Valentyn Reznichenko reported on his Telegram channel on Oct. 4.

The Russian invaders fired the Grads about 30 times into the city, along with other heavy artillery. As a result of the attacks, four men aged 28, 48, 50 and 66 were injured. Two of them have already been admitted to hospital.

At least four apartments have been reported to have been destroyed in one of the damaged high-rise buildings.

The power supply network of the water utility pumping station was also damaged, leaving the city without water, in addition to leaving over 7,000 Nikopol residents without power. Work on restoring electricity has begun, the governor said.

Reznichenko added that a school, a pharmacy, an industrial enterprise, a grain elevator, shops and administrative buildings were also impacted.

In the Marganetska and Chervonogrihorivska municipalities, the extent of the destruction is being determined. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

In the Pokrovsk municipality, agricultural warehouses caught fire as a result of the strikes, though firefighters have successfully extinguished the blaze.

The Russian troops have been systematically shelling the settlements of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and Nikopol has suffered almost daily attacks for a good portion of the seven month war.
