Romania scrambled four fighter jets after a small object, likely a drone, entered its airspace, penetrating up to 14 kilometers into the southeastern Constanța County, Reuters reported on Oct. 17.

This follows series of incidents when Russian drones crashed on the Romanian terrirory as the terrorist state attacked Ukraine's port infrastructure, located near the Ukraine-Romania border.

The country's Defense Ministry detected the breach around 4:00 GMT when radar identified the object having crossed the country’s land border, Reuters reported.

The drone was first spotted heading toward Romania over the Black Sea.

Two Romanian F-16s and two Spanish F-18s, patrolling the country's airspace until the end of the year, were deployed. However, the pilots were unable to locate the drone.

Residents in Constanța County were advised to take shelter.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
