The Pentagon does not see any changes in the position of the strategic nuclear forces of the Russian Federation after the statements about the suspension of participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START I), U.S. Ministry of Defense spokesman, Patrick Ryder, reported on Twitter on Feb. 25.

“We find it unfortunate that they (Russia) decided to suspend their participation in the contract. This is irresponsible given the possible consequences,” the general said.

Meanwhile, Ryder noted that Russia has not yet recorded a change in the configuration of its nuclear capabilities.

“Regarding the position of the strategic forces of the Russian Federation, we have not seen any signs that it has changed, just as we have not changed our position,” the Pentagon representative added.
