Ukraine sees first Shahed-free night in over three months
Russia's army did not launch any Shahed attack drones against Ukraine — the first pause of its kind since Dec. 10, 2024, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, wrote on April 1.
He posted his brief comment on Telegram.
“No attack drones tonight," he wrote.
"We’ll keep monitoring — it doesn’t mean anything yet.”
Overnight, Ukraine’s Air Force issued only a few alerts regarding possible air attacks.
The last time Russian forces refrained from using Shahed drones against Ukraine was the night of Dec. 10. That marks a pause after more than three months — 112 days, to be exact.
Previously, Russia had also held back from attacking Ukrainian cities on the night of Oct. 14, 2024.
By contrast, on the night of March 31, Russia launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 131 Shahed-type and decoy drones against Ukraine. The Air Force reported that 102 drones were shot down or lost on radars.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
