Russian forces attacked Ukraine’s northern Sumy Oblast with artillery fire and air strikes from Russian territory, head of Sumy Regional Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyy said in a Telegram post on May 28.
A large farm near Putyvl was destroyed in a missile strike; six mortar shells struck Znob-Novhorod, Zhyvytskyy said.
Firing from their territory, Russians used artillery to pummel Esman and areas near Bachivsk.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, Zhyvytskyy said.
Since the defeated Russian army retreated from northern Ukraine in late March and early April, Russia has sporadically attacked Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts with long-range weapons.
