Russia launches 149 drones at Ukraine, 57 intercepted
The Russian army launched 149 drones against Ukraine overnight - air defense managed to repel the attack, but damage was reported in several oblasts, the Air Force reported on Telegram on April 27.
This latest assault involved 149 strike drones and decoy drones launched from Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Air defense forces shot down 57 drones. Ukrainian air defense operated in the country's east, north, south, and center.
Another 67 decoy drones were "lost on radars" failing to reach their targets and causing no harm.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the enemy attack.
The assault started on the evening of April 26, when Russia launched Shahed drones across Ukrainian territory. Air raid alerts were issued in several oblasts. Reports confirmed air defense activity in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhya oblasts, while explosions were heard in Odesa and Dnipro.
