Russian forces struck a business center in Odesa overnight, injuring one person, the State Emergency Service reported on Oct. 1.
The strike damaged the roof and facades of two commercial buildings within the complex. The blast wave blew out glazing, partially collapsed external walls on the fifth floor, and ignited an active fire.
Emergency rescue teams deployed to the scene, quickly extinguishing the blaze and preventing the flames from spreading throughout the rest of the commercial structure.
Head of Odesa City Military Administration Serhii Lysak reported that Russian forces struck Odesa overnight into Oct. 1, damaging the city’s municipal infrastructure.
Russian forces have mounted near-daily aerial assaults targeting Odesa and Odesa Oblast.
In an overnight and morning attack on Sept. 29, Russian forces struck municipal infrastructure across Odesa, igniting a facility fire and injuring six people, two of whom required hospitalization.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
