Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Dnipro, causing widespread destruction and injuring at least three people overnight, local governor Serhii Lysak wrote on April 4.

He reported the attack aftermath in his post on Telegram, adding that Ukraine’s air defense forces intercepted 13 drones over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

"In Dnipro and its suburbs, the attack damaged a critical infrastructure facility, two administrative buildings, several private and guest houses, an auxiliary structure, an abandoned building, a car, a gas pipeline, and power lines," he wrote.

The drone strikes sparked multiple fires, which have since been extinguished by emergency services.

Lysak added that three people were injured. A 66-year-old woman was hospitalized, her condition is moderate.

The Russian forces also targeted the towns of Nikopol, Marhanets, and Chervonohryhorivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Three private homes, five utility structures, power lines, and a gas pipeline were damaged. No casualties were reported in those areas.

The drone attack was part of a larger overnight assault across Ukraine. In Kharkiv, drones struck the Novobavarskyi district, where rescuers recovered four bodies from the rubble and reported 35 people injured.

In Zaporizhzhya Oblast, one person was injured. Two more were wounded in Kyiv Oblast, where fires broke out following the attack.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
