Russian forces attacked energy infrastructure and an industrial site in Poltava Oblast, regional governor Vitaliy Diakivnych reported on Sept. 16.
Russian forces launched an overnight drone assault against Poltava Oblast on Sept. 16, specifically targeting local energy infrastructure, according to Poltava Oblast Military Administration head Vitaliy Diakivnych.
In the Poltava district, an inbound unmanned aerial vehicle struck an industrial facility. No casualties were reported in either attack.
Russian forces continued targeting Kyiv and surrounding regions through the night and morning of Sept. 16 utilizing turbojet-powered strike drones. In Kyiv Oblast, 17 sites sustained damage over the past 24 hours and into the morning hours.
In Kyiv's Svyatoshynskyi district, falling drone wreckage impacted commercial warehouse premises on Wednesday morning, injuring one civilian who was later hospitalized.
Nationwide air assault overnight on Sept. 16
Russia launched 80 strike drones across Ukrainian territory overnight; air defense units intercepted and neutralized 63 of them.
The attack included jet-powered Shahed strike drones, Gerbera unmanned craft, and Parodiya-type decoy drones designed to oversaturate air defense radar networks.
Ukrainian Air Force recorded direct strikes across seven locations, with falling debris from intercepted drones causing damage at two additional sites.
