Ukrainian kickboxing World Cup winner killed in Sumy Oblast

Multiple Ukrainian kickboxing champion and World Cup winner Dmytro Rusetskyi was killed in action near Pysarivka, Sumy Oblast, Ukrainian Kickboxing Federation President Olha Pavlenko reported on Feb. 20.

Rusetskyi fell while executing a combat mission on Feb. 15.

In civilian life, Rusetskyi was a professional martial artist. He held the title of International Master of Sports in WAKO kickboxing, winning multiple Ukrainian championships and World Cups.

Pavlenko described him as an 'incredibly talented' athlete, mentor, and coach who dedicated his life to youth development and raising true champions.

"Dmytro was not only a strong fighter in the ring but a courageous defender of Ukraine," she wrote.

"His strength of spirit, dedication, and love for the Motherland will forever remain in our memory."

The Federation expressed sincere condolences to the fallen hero's parents, family, and loved ones.
