Russian gas pipeline explosion kills three

Three people were killed in an explosion at a natural gas pipeline in Russia’s Chuvashia on Dec. 20, according to social media reports.
It seems that a fire broke out at the Urengoi-Pomary-Uzhhorod pipeline, in Vurnarskyi District in Cguvashia. It’s yet unclear what might have caused the accident.
According to local authorities, maintenance crews were working at the pipeline before the explosion.
At least three casualties were reported so far.
The Urengoi-Pomary-Uzhhorod pipeline was built in early 1980s, supplying Russian natural gas to Europe by way of Ukraine.
