Russian invasion forces shelled Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with heavy artillery, with the attack injuring a 59-year-old man in Nikopol, the region’s governor Valentyn Reznichenko wrote on Telegram on Dec. 18.
Reznichenko said the Russians shelled the district of Nikopol five times overnight, targeting three local communities: Nikopol, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka.
The governor said the 59-year-old man injured in Nikopol had been provided with medical aid at the scene of the attack.
Several private houses, utility buildings and a gymnasium building were damaged by the Russian shelling. No casualties reported in the Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka districts.
The Russian troops continue to heavily shell settlements of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, attacking almost every day.
The Russians have firing positions in the occupied city of Enerhodar in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, across the River Dnipro from Nikopol, and Chervonohryhorivka. They have also set up firing positions at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, the biggest nuclear plant in Europe.
