Russian Shahed-type drones have begun executing evasive maneuvers when approached by Ukrainian interceptor drones, Ukrainian Defense Ministry advisor Serhii (Flash) Beskrestnov reported on April 30.

"We see how the Shaheds have started doing maneuvers when our interceptor drones approach," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

He also suggested that the system operates based on a camera, a photo of which he also published.

Russian drones with mesh modems are increasingly flying deep into Ukraine's rear, Beskrestnov reported on April 28. They form chains of several UAVs to provide remote control and reconnaissance.

The current coverage area for guided Shaheds includes Kyiv from the north, Poltava from the west, as well as Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Odesa, and Mykolaiv from the south, the Defense Ministry advisor reported.

Russian jet-powered Shaheds attacked Beskrestnov's home overnight on April 20. He published a photo from the hospital and reported being wounded, noting that he "was mentally prepared for such a turn of events."

The drone that attacked his house was controlled online from Russian territory and was part of a targeted operation to eliminate him, Defense Ministry advisor said.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
