Russian troops have executed a Ukrainian prisoner of war in Svyato-Pokrovske, Donetsk Oblast, DeepState monitoring group reported on Dec. 5.

The published footage shows the invaders taking a Ukrainian Defense Forces soldier prisoner.

He exits a shelter in a house with his hands raised, and a Russian soldier immediately shoots him with an assault rifle.

Svyato-Pokrovske is located southwest of Siversk in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk Oblast. This means that the occupiers are already operating beyond the Bakhmutka River, DeepState reported.

The project also noted that it is now difficult to assess the real situation in frontline town of Siversk.

On Nov. 27, the DeepState project wrote that, west of Zelenyi Hai in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, Russian troops executed five captured servicemen of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
