Russian troops hit residential buildings in Kupyansk, causing massive fires

Russian troops shelled the town of Kupyansk in Kharkiv Oblast early on Jan. 24, hitting residential buildings, head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration Oleh Synehubov said in a post on his Telegram channel on Jan. 24.

Synehubov said large-scale fires have been started as a result of the shelling. Information about the destruction and casualties is currently being verified.

During the past day, the enemy has conducted massive-scale shelling attacks on border settlements in the vicinities of Kupyansk, Chuhuyiv and the city of Kharkiv, Synehubov added.

The General Staff reported in its morning summary on Jan. 24 that Russian invasion forces were conducting unsuccessful offensive actions on the Kupyansk section of the front.

All of the enemy attacks were repelled by Ukrainian defenders, the General Staff said.
