Fire expands severely at Russian military training ground at Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea
Fire at the Russian military training ground on Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea, which broke out on June 25, has increased several times, the Russian Radio Liberty reported on June 27.
Satellite images from June 25 and 26 show that the area covered by the fire has grown significantly, as a result of which the fire has reached the buildings on the territory of the military unit.
Russian forces’ coastal and anti-aircraft defense positions are located at Cape Chauda, Radio Liberty said. It is known that the Russian army launches Shahed-type attack drones against Ukraine from here.
The fire at the landfill was reported on June 25. It is currently unknown what was the cause, as there was no information about missile or drone strikes on the peninsula in recent days.
Explosions at Cape Chauda were heard on June 20. Locals could witness a fire erupted there, with ambulances heading towards the site.
An ammunition package exploded at Cape Chauda, Krymskyi Veter Telegram channel reported then.
