Ukraine’s army has repulsed several attacks by Russian invasion forces in the Donbas over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported in its daily summary on June 12.
In particular, the invaders tried to attack in the direction of Mykolayivka (Donetsk Oblast) and Vrubivka (Luhansk Oblast). Having suffered losses, the Russians retreated, according to the General Staff.
Today marks the 109th day of Ukraine’s resistance to the full-scale Russian invasion.
On the Siverskyi axis in Sumy Oblast, the enemy continues mortar attacks on Ukrainian positions in the border areas. In addition, the Russian invaders are shelling civilian infrastructure facilities in the village of Myropilske, Sumy Oblast.
On the Kharkiv axis, the situation has not undergone significant changes. The enemy has concentrated its main efforts on maintaining its positions. To constrain the actions of the Ukrainian army, it continues firing on the positions of Ukrainian units. In addition, the enemy targeted civilian infrastructure near the settlements of Udy, Prudyanka, Tsyrkuny and Verkhniy Saltiv. Airstrikes were conducted near Ternova and Rubizhne.
On the Slovyansk axis in Donetsk Obast, the enemy carried out systematic artillery shelling. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled enemy assaults near Brazhkivka, Dolyna and Virnopillya. The invaders have withdrawn. With the support of mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, the enemy is now trying to gain a foothold in Bohorodychne, where fighting continues. The enemy is actively using means of electronic warfare, the General Staff reported.
On the Lyman axis in Donetsk Oblast, enemy units did not conduct active operations. In the direction of the city of Lysychansk in Luhansk Oblast, the enemy has increased the intensity of the use of artillery and rockets, and is taking measures to strengthen its groupings of troops. Artillery was used to fire at civilian infrastructure near Serebryanka and Bilohorivka.
On the Severodonetsk axis in Luhansk Oblast, the enemy shelled civilian infrastructure near Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Metiolkine, Ustynivka and Toshkivka.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are successfully resisting the enemy's assault actions in Severodonetsk. Some enemy units are storming the Toshkivka area, where fighting continues. In addition, an enemy assault was successfully repulsed in the Metiolkine area. The invaders retreated. The enemy had to reinforce its grouping by introducing reserve units.
On the Bakhmut axis, the enemy was shelling Ukrainian positions near Mykolayivka, Bilohorivka, Hirske, Komyshuvakha and Novoluhanske. Using army aviation, the Russians launched an airstrike near Pokrovske.
Near Popasna, the Ukrainian army successfully stopped an enemy advance. The invaders had to withdraw.
The enemy is advancing near Nyrkove, where fighting continues. In the direction of Mykolayivka, the enemy offensive stalled. Under well-aimed fire from Ukrainian soldiers, the invaders withdrew.
Near Berestove, the enemy, while trying to advance, suffered losses and retreated to previously occupied positions.
In addition, in order to identify weaknesses in the defense and the fire system, the invaders carried out a reconnaissance in force near Volodymyrivka. Ukrainian defenders responded to the enemy’s actions — forcing it to retreat with losses.
The occupiers did not conduct active hostilities on the Avdiyivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhya axes. They shelled civilian infrastructure near the settlements of New York, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka and Novoandriyivka. Attack aircraft struck near Maryinka.
On the Pivdennyi Buh axis, the enemy fired at Ukrainian positions near Dobryanka, Velyka Kostromka, Murakhivka and Prybuzke in order to contain Ukrainian troops. Also, the enemy tried to conduct counter-battery activities.
The occupiers struck with assault and army aircraft near Snihurivka and Topolyne.
There were no significant changes in the situation on the Bessarabian axis.
On the Volyn and Polissya axes, in the course of checking the combat readiness of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus, have been are brought to the highest levels of combat readiness, practical measures are being taken to conscript those liable for military service, and weapons and military equipment are being removed from storage.
The enemy continues to suffer significant losses.
