Russian forces attacked Kherson with strike drones overnight, a fire broke out and casualties reported, local military administration wrote on Oct. 24.

In the Dniprovskiy district of the city, a Shahed struck a multi-storey apartment building, causing a fire.

At about 6 a.m., the enemy dropped an explosive from a drone onto a 59-year-old man, who sustained an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds. He is now under medical supervision.

Earlier on Oct. 24, it was reported that Russia attacked critical infrastructure in Kirovohrad Oblast, leaving 19 settlements without power.

The occupiers also struck a SES (State Emergency Service) vehicle with an FPV drone that arrived to extinguish a fire in Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhya Oblast. One rescuer was wounded.

As a result of the shelling, an 80-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man suffered explosive injuries and thermal burns; they were taken to hospital.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
