Ukraine still has "a very long way to go" to win the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Gen, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, said in an interview with blogger Dmytro Komarov on May 12.
"I see how it can be done (to win the war against Russia - ed.), I see what else needs to be done," he said.
“But I know for sure that there is still a very long way to go. A very long and difficult one.”
Zaluzhnyi emphasized that Ukraine is holding on thanks to Ukrainian people who hold their ground and ‘create this victory’.”
"We will get there and we will definitely win," Zaluzhnyi said and emphasized that "there is still a lot of work to be done.”
“But again, I want to say that so far everything rests on the shoulders of these ordinary people.”
Earlier, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that Ukraine wants to end the war completely by winter 2024.
According to military intelligence, Russia has the resources to wage war for about two more years at the current intensity of hostilities.
