Ukraine to boost training for drone and robotic system instructors
Ukraine’s Armed Forces will expand training for instructors operating drones and ground robotic systems, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi wrote on Telegram on May 28.
His statement follows recent news that the military is scaling up its drone units.
“Scaling up drone units requires professional operators," he explained.
"We are strengthening the instructors' training in the use of UAVs and various types of ground robotic systems. We’re increasing the number of specialists in this area.”
An Instructor School will soon begin operation, which will significantly improve the instructors qualifications and readiness.
“Special attention has been paid to tactical medicine instructors," Syrskyi added.
"Their training duration will be significantly expanded. The number of tactical medicine instructors will also grow — both in training centers and within combat brigades.”
On April 18, AFU Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Oleh Apostol, said that a new general military training program launched three months ago already showed positive results.
On May 27, the 412th Nemesis separate regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces, developed and approved a unique general military training program, which is now being implemented at the unit’s base.
Earlier, on April 9, the Nemesis regiment reported destroying 100 Russian tanks over the year. According to the unit, the most “productive” periods in terms of enemy equipment destruction were fall and winter 2024, with November 2024 and February 2025 being especially successful.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
