Ukrainian army gets major IT upgrade from European partners

Ukraine has received a new nearly $2 million batch of equipment from the IT Coalition, funded by Luxembourg and Iceland, Defense Ministry reported on April 21.
This marks the third delivery from the IT Coalition in 2025, Ukrainian MoD said. In January, Estonia, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg provided equipment worth €3.3 million ($3.53 million), followed by another €7.5 million ($8.03 million) shipment in February.
The batch includes:
- 3,288 access points of various models
- 500 routers
- 460 charging stations with solar panels
- 872 phones.
“I thank the countries of the IT Coalition for strengthening the technological resilience of our military," Deputy Defense Minister for Digitalization Kateryna Chornohorenko said.
"With this equipment, we will enhance the capacity for high-quality and reliable communication within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is especially important on the front line.”
The IT Coalition is one of the capability coalitions within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (the Ramstein format). Its goal is to support the Armed Forces and Defense Ministry in the fields of information technology, communications, and cybersecurity.
The coalition includes Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, and Japan. It is co-led by Estonia and Luxembourg.
