Three humanitarian corridors are to operate in Ukraine on March 30, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.

Humanitarian corridors will operate along the following routes:

  • for the evacuation of Mariupol residents and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Berdyansk,

  • for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the evacuation of people from Melitopol,

  • for the passage of a column of people using their own transport from Enerhodar to Zaporizhzhia.

Minister Vereshchuk also said people will be able to join the humanitarian convoys from Berdyansk and Melitopol in private vehicles.

She also noted that at the talks in Istanbul, the Russian delegation was given proposals on organizing humanitarian corridors to the most affected 97 settlements in Kharkiv, Kyiv. Kherson, Chernihiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts.

Russia attacked Ukraine on Feb. 24. March 30 is the 35th day of the full-scale war Russia unleashed on Ukraine, although it refuses to recognize it as such, instead calling it a "special military operation in the Donbas."

Invading Russian troops have been trying to advance from the north, east and south, shelling peaceful cities throughout Ukraine.

From the first days of the war, the most difficult situation has been observed in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Mariupol, and the outskirts of Kyiv.

The invaders are also trying to seize those territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions that were under the control of Ukraine before the invasion.
